Round 42 changes

Round 42 update

All,
just to confirm that the ship statistics, government bonuses and race bonuses are all now final. As has been previously confirmed, ticks start this Friday.

There are four key changes this round. They are as follows:

1) As has already been announced, you no longer have to sign up each round. We also started storing scores as of last round, and we will be looking to implement some sort of display based on your Planetarion account history in the future.

2) Scans are now cheaper the more wave amplifiers you have. Every amp you build after the first amplifier gives you a 0.1% cost reduction of scans, meaning a maximum reduction of 24.9%

3) Attacker salvage is now allocated differently and capped. Salvage from lost ships is still allocated to the fleet that lost it; however, salvage from attacking fleets is now allocated according to a weighted combination of score and dead ships, i.e. those with the most dead ships / lowest score get the most salvage from attacking fleets. Attacker salvage is capped to be approximately that of lost ships minus salvage from defending fleets, but is based on your score, with a lower cap for higher-scoring planets and a higher cap for lower-scoring planets (i.e. planets outside the top 100 can still make some value bonus on attacker salvage). The precise formula will be explained shortly.

4) Some of the code "behind the scenes" has been updated to improve the security of the game. This should not have any impact on game play.

Also, as a reminder, those who are worried that their alliance names may be stolen in-game can contact PA Staff to arrange for their name to be reserved. Please raise a support ticket in-game as the HC of your alliance, or contact pateam [at] planetarion.com with your user id and your alliance name. This can save a lot of stress and hassle for all concerned during signups.
